I also enjoy spending time with family – my brother and sister and I have a quarterly ‘Siblingfest’ where we explore different cities in the UK and try out their best restaurants. My spirit for exploration is now sated by my van, which I generally take to UK surf beaches in the Spring, Summer and Autumn. I enjoy the off-grid lifestyle – although I am now a ‘landlubber’, I lived on a canal boat on the Thames for nine years. I also play in other ensembles, including the occasional Ceilidh band. We’re no longer signed to a record label, but still enjoy gigging and recording together. My other hat is as a musician - I still play bass in the indie band that I formed fifteen years ago with school friends. I hope that others regard me as creative, positive and driven. I enjoy physical theatre the most – the joy of moving together is like nothing else. The brilliant staff, the wonderful pupils, the top-class facilities and the beauty of the surroundings. Finding common ground, creating interesting work and laughing together are real highlights of the time spent as a theatre-maker, and I love that I get to work with inspirational young people on a daily basis. My favourite part of Drama is rehearsal and the process of discovery in a creative space. What do you enjoy most about your subject? I found my way to Stowe via The International School, Seychelles, where I was Head of Drama, Art and Performing Arts. Most of my school-based teaching has been at The Dragon School, where I was Head of Drama for six years. I started as a freelance performer and musician before managing the Education Department of a large theatre company in Oxford. ![]() Qualifications: BA Essex, MA Royal College London ![]()
